Independent Member for Alfred Cove Dr Janet Woollard is notifying the community that the Smart Choice Consumer Guide for Western Australians Over 50 is available at her Electorate Office.

"I have been contacted many times by seniors in the community regarding consumer protection issues such as entering into contracts and problems with prepaid funeral funds," said Dr Woollard.

"The Smart Choice guide provides a comprehensive overview of your rights as a consumer if you are over 50."

Dr Woollard said the Smart Choice guide has information associated with purchasing goods and services, contracts of sales, buying or renting a property and other shopping concerns and scams.

"There is also a directory of services which would help to connect over 50’s to a range of community and government organisations," said Dr Woollard.

"It is important for all members of the community to have access to information that would protect their interests as consumers.

"I encourage community members over 50 to contact my office for a copy of the Smart Choice guide."
