Independent Member for Alfred Cove Dr Janet Woollard is inviting members of the Alfred Cove community to inform her if they know of anyone in the community celebrating their 90th or 100th Birthday, as well as their Golden or Diamond Wedding Anniversary in 2010.

"People celebrating these milestones can receive congratulatory messages from heads-of-states such as The Queen, The Governor-General, The Governor, The Prime Minister, The Premier and The State Leader of the Opposition," said Dr Woollard.

"As their local MP, it is my pleasure to arrange for these messages to be delivered to their celebrants.

"It is a privilege and an honour when I have the opportunity to meet with the individuals who are celebrating such a significant highlight in their lives."

Dr Woollard said in order for the congratulatory messages to be delivered in time it helps if she can be informed 6 weeks in advance of the impending Birthday or Anniversary.

"I can then forward copies of the relevant Birth or Marriage certificates to Government House.

"Statutory declarations are acceptable if the certificates cannot be found."

Dr Woollard said the messages received would depend on the Birthday or type of Anniversary, whether it is Golden or Diamond Anniversary (see note to journalist or editors below).

"It is always rewarding to learn there are long-standing residents who would have made such an enduring and remarkable contribution to the local community.

"I am looking forward to receiving numerous notifications of Birthdays and Anniversaries in 2010," said Dr Woollard.
